Patient Profile

This article explains how to access and navigate the Patient Profile within Rio Observations.

Accessing the Patient Profile

From the Patient List, tap the required patient card to open the Patient Profile.

The Patient Profile screen provides a detailed ward level view of the selected patient. Below is a break down of the Patient Profile sections.


Patient Demographics

Located at the top of the profile, this section includes:

  • Patient photo or initials

  • Gender

  • Date of birth

  • Current ward location

  • NHS Number

  • Rio Client ID

  • Alerts


Patient Alerts

The Patient Alert screen displays all current alerts linked to the patient record in Rio EPR.

Allergies

The Patient Allergy screen provides a list of patient's active allergies recorded in Rio EPR. It includes:

  • Allergy Name

  • Reaction Type

  • Reaction Description

Allergies are presented alphabetically by allergy name.


Early Warning Charts

The current Early Warning Score (EWS) charts can be accessed by:

  • Clicking on the NEWS pill on the Patient Profile, or

  • Before starting any new physical observation they will appear automatically.


Recording Task List

The Task List gives an overview of all active tasks related to the patient.

  • Tap a task card to open the Observation View and begin recording.

  • Use the taskbar to switch between the Task List and the History Timeline


History Timeline

The History Timeline presents recent patient activity in descending order, most recent first. Each entry includes:

  • Activity type

  • Assessment or event

  • Date and time

  • User name

  • Total Early Warning Score or partial observation details.

Tap any history card to open the History Detail View, which displays full recorded details and chart data.


Add Record Button

The Add Record button opens the Add New Record screen, listing all available:

  • Observations

  • Assessment forms that can be recorded for the patient.
